Von Wellington continues the Romans series in a message titled, "The Right Time".

The applause we hear, God’s applause, will be because Christ’s work not ours.  My only boasting can be in Christ and His work for me on the cross. 

The greatest challenge is not your discipline, your devotion, your focus.  Your greatest challenge is believing the Gospel.  Could it be that there’s a God with a love so scandalous, so wide, so deep, so vast, so high, so expansive, so welcoming?  There is. 
 
He paid.  What will your response be?  

We repent of our false righteousness, our false justification, and boast in Christ and His work alone.  But now, a perfect righteousness is revealed apart from the law through your performance.  It’s a righteousness that comes upon you.  It comes to you, and it’s the end of your struggle.  You are freely justified by faith through the blood of Christ.

True repentance and salvation will lead to obedience.  The work of your hands will reflect the attitude of you heart.

The gospel is the good news of victory in the face of today’s headlines.  The gospel trumps the darkness every time as we respond in faith. 

What will your story be?  

I know there is much to be fearful of, much to mourn about the state of faith in this world, but take heart my friend—Jesus is building his Church, and the gates of hell have not, nor will they, frustrate his plans for her. 

You will not grow until you let go.  You can move forward.  Your chains can be broken.  But, you have to crawl up on the altar. 

Forgiveness is the key to you walking out of jail.  I’ll never forget being locked inside a padded cell with nothing but the face of the lady I was trying to escape filling the window.  I never want to go back to that again, literally or figuratively.  To get out, we have to face the hurt head-on.
