Idaho Grace Sermon Podcast

If you want the wars of your life to stop wars with other people, with yourself, with God--it starts with a humble heart.  We submit, we resist the devil, and we draw near but you can’t do any of these things without a humble heart. 

When God’s people ask rightly, we find out that He is able to do exceedingly above all that we can ask or think.  We find that God can do the impossible.  We find that God’s promises are certain and His love is unfailing. 

Do you find yourself critical, bitter, and unforgiving?  Raise the white flag of surrender. 
If THAT sin, you know what it is, controls you, raise the white flag of surrender. 
If you are empty, running, fighting, crying, raise the white flag of surrender. 

I don’t want to live in the past.  Do you? 
I don’t want to go back.  Do you? 
I am desperate to see God move.  Are you? 

Rejoice because we have Immanuel God with us! 

We have a story.  God interrupted shepherds and sent them running to see for themselves and so changed them they couldn’t shut up.  What if you shared your story today? 

God’s invitation, His revelation, spoil us for what we thought we wanted.  Even if we resist, what we find out is that His plans ARE better.  However, don’t miss this: Though God’s plans are better, getting to where He wants to take us involves pain.  It involves discomfort.  It involves the disruption of transformation.  It ultimately requires trusting God like you have never trusted Him before.

Thanksgiving changes you.  When our circumstances stop being the foundation of our thoughts and instead in the midst of our circumstances, we go back and we remember, and we build on His steadfast love and mercy, all of a sudden, things change.  Even if the event isn’t erased from the calendar, even if, even when, our hope becomes anchored in gratitude for what He has already done and we say todah; thanks.
