Idaho Grace Sermon Podcast

We are in the battle of all time.  We have an enemy who doesn’t play by the rules.  He will use anything and everything to drag you down and keep you from living the life God wants you to live.  He will do anything and use everything to keep you from being an effective member of God’s household. But here is the good news church, no matter what he tries, no matter what he throws at you, you have the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13.

The resurrection is either the celebration of an event or the celebration of an experience.  What is it to you? 

The early Church didn’t have much, but they had this amazing hope that they would remind themselves of time and time again.  Jesus is coming again.  Jesus is coming again. Jesus is coming again!  What I see here?  The pain?  The sickness?  The grief?  The uncertainty?  It’s not the end.  Jesus is coming again!  And when He comes again, all that is upside down will be made right.  All things will be put in order.  He will be visibly seen as King of kings and Lord of lords. 

As we grow in wisdom it will literally touch every area of our lives. Today, we will examine a few areas in which we can experience explosive transformation which has the potential to change the trajectory of future generations. 

#BIGPOINT: THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS ABOUT THE POSTURE OF OUR HEART. 

In the face of fear, I will pray (even if it looks like your world is falling apart).  In the face of fear, I will pause.  I will have a Selah: remember what He’s done and look for what He’s doing.  In the face of fear, I will surrender.  I will reject the temptation to play God and trust in the fact that He IS God.  I will be still.  I will know:  GOD IS FOR US! 

The opposite of wisdom is foolishness. Do fools always know when they’re being foolish? Today, we’re going to identify key characteristics and stereotypes of a fool as mentioned in Proverbs.  

We all aspire to wisdom. We want it. We need it. We want to see it in our families, our careers, our decision-making. But would we know it if we saw it?  So, what is wisdom, anyway? Business savvy? Morality? Let’s listen in on a father’s instruction and build a case for wisdom.

What if Jesus came back today? FACT: Jesus is coming again. How do those words make you feel? Wouldn’t it be interesting to sit in a circle and listen to people’s reactions? If a cluster of us summarized our emotions regarding the return of Christ in one word—what words would we hear? What word would you use?
