We’re in a battle but we know the end of the story.  Until the end of the story is realized, though, we live intentionally.  How?  By walking carefully, maximizing the time we’ve been given, by depending on the Holy Spirit when facing life’s pressures, by keeping the song going, by worshiping together, and by consciously living lives of thanksgiving. 

This message is not for condemnation, it’s for encouragement.  If God spoke to you about anything, sin, sexual sin, things in your past, know this: FAILURE ISN’T FINAL WITH THE FATHER!  God can create beauty from ashes.  That’s just what He does. 

Are you ready and willing to take the whole Christian faith?  Are you ready and willing to take the negative with the positive?  It’s the only way it comes.  If you are willing to say no to yourself, there are all kinds of yeses ready to come flooding into your life.  That’s the promise of the Scripture.  Are you ready to do that?  You don’t have to be a Christian in name only.  You can be saved, transformed, not trying to obey to become a child, but obeying because you are a child.  You can be saved today.

THE BIG POINT:  MARRIAGE IS A GOSPEL-CENTERED, HOLY SYMBOL 
1. MARRIAGE IS NOT THE ULTIMATE RELATIONSHIP 
2. MARRIAGE IS NOT THE MEASURE OF A SIGNIFICANT LIFE 
3. MARRIAGE IS NOT THE ANSWER TO OUR DEEPEST LONGING OR THE SOLUTION FOR OUR SIN 

As we acknowledge our helplessness, pray for the Spirit’s help, walk in faith, do what we know to be right, we can say with all the saints, “Not I, but the Spirit of Christ within me.”  Thanks be to God!  To him be glory for ever and ever!  Amen!
